Summary: "No elastic straps to hold pieces"

The description of the product states it has elastic straps to hold the pieces but mine did not come with them. At first I was a little upset by this but after using the set a few times, I realized that I likely wouldn't use the straps anyway. It's much easier and faster to just dump the pieces in the board and fold it up. The wooden pieces are durable enough to handle a little shaking around. The pieces look nice but there is nothing ornate or special about them so even if one does get chipped, it's not a big deal.

Overall, the set is a good value. The board is very attractive and nicely finished. There are magnets at the edges which help hold the board closed in addition to the clasp. Just don't count on getting elastic straps.

I can not think of a single bad thing to say about this chess set. For its price this item is a steal. Pieces are fine crafted and quite durable, and the board itself is very nice. I give this product an A+.

I ordered this chess set for my 7 year old son's birthday. He was interested in learning to play chess and I wanted a set that he could play with not just a "pretty" set. The pieces are a nice weight and the board folds to hold all of the pieces. It is perfect for him and we love playing with it!!

In short, this is a beautiful board. high-quality construction. The pieces do seem a bit light, but reasonable. The pieces do not strap down inside, but this is ok really. This board is a good value, and i am rather impressed.
